Job Dashboard

A job dashboard panel provides an overview of job statuses, operations, statistics, and a list of slow running job IDs within a given timeframe. The maximum timeframe is limited to 30 days. You can set the timeframe by clicking on settings. This also provides an insight on the most problematic jobs and typical problems related to jobs.

To enable Job Dashboard, perform the following steps from the Transportation Manager Web user interface:

  1. Navigate to Environment > UI Customization > Screen Element > Screen Elements.

  2. Select TSB_ADMIN_PANEL and click Version .

  3. Select Smartbench – Navigation Pad – Main against employee user group type and click Operations.

  4. Select TSB_JOB_DASHBOARD and click Enable and Activate.

  5. Select the Job Dashboard under the TSB admin panel to access the job dashboard.

The following data is are available on the job dashboard:

  • Number of active jobs in the system.

  • Overall success rate of jobs for the given time range.

  • Processed jobs.

  • Job execution status based on the time filter.

  • Top 5 jobs in the system that are completed and sorted by duration.

  • Top 5 jobs in the system that are currently processing are sorted by duration.

  • Top 5 errors seen in the job server grouped by errors.

  • Top 5 jobs having maximum error occurrences grouped by errors.

  • Average job execution time week over week or day over day to view performance degradation.

Job List

This tab lists all the jobs. You can see the overall success rate of the job from the list.

Job Execution metric

To view the job execution metric chart, select a job from the list and click Job Execution metric. The charts also include the days of the month and the average execution time in milliseconds. You can also navigate to the previous and next month.

Hourly Plan for a Week

This tab helps you to review the overall jobs in terms of the number of jobs scheduled for a given hour over a week. It determines the scheduled job status such as relatively even coverage, Peaks and valleys, and the Maximum number of jobs available at any time in the day or week. If you are splitting the job across hours, you can find considerable discrepancies which are not easily done by seeing the Job queue and definitions. You can also navigate to the previous and next week.

Errors Review

The following tabs provide details about the errors across jobs:

  • Most Errors Across Jobs

  • Most Errors for Selected Job

  • Jobs with Most Errors

  • Most Jobs with Selected Error

Slow Jobs

This panel gives you visibility of the slowness of the job. It also details the total number of entities started and the duration in seconds. You can also check the history of slow jobs.

Completed Jobs by Avg Duration

This window gives you details on the average job completion duration.

Current Slow Jobs

This window lists all the slowed-down jobs going on for a while. Here you can select any one or all from the list and click Abort to cancel job runs. This helps easy identification without going through the job queue and sorting or searching for jobs.

Note: Current Slow Jobs is the only panel that is about the current state and is not impacted by timeframe selection.
